According to the global pattern, small local businesses like boutiques and clothing lines are bursting into the scene over the recent years. A start-up, as all entrepreneurs would know, requires a massive amount of zeal and focus. A good set of strategies for businesses such as boutiques, or coffee shops and other small businesses could determine not only the company’s survival, but also their chances of achieving groundbreaking success.

In a digital age with internet and it’s extensive reach, a killer social media strategy can be the ultimate key to success for small, local businesses. Here are a few tactics which might help local businesses succeed in social media:

1)  Post contents consistently to increase engagement

Keeping your customers engaged is one of the key ingredients of driving traffic to your page and website. In order to keep your target market engaged, you need to post rich and relevant contents on a regular basis. Posting at least once a day for Facebook, and 4-6 times* a day on Twitter should be ideal.

2) Use lots and lots of images in Facebook

One of the best ways to increase engagement in Facebook is by attaching an image along with a catchy caption. Photos on Facebook has been shown to generate approximately 53% more* likes then an average post with only text and/or link. Sometimes, when you have a new announcement, for example, a ‘new discount’ in case of boutiques, or a ‘happy-hour offer’ for coffee shops or restaurants, perhaps you can post a suitable picture along with the announcement.

3) Create and share infographics

Over the last few years, infographics has become extremely popular. Due to the overflow of information surrounding us, people has less patience to go through detailed writings. Infographics are fast, efficient and relatively easier to absorb large amount of information. They are also an attractive means of communicating crucial points with viewers in a matter of seconds. Professionally designed infographics can spike huge traffic to your sites. Invest some time researching on intriguing topics relevant to your industry, such as “how much money does an average Bangladeshi woman spends on clothing every month” or “what percentage of an average Bangladeshi’s income is spent on coffee/tea and such beverages compared to the rest of the world.” Good infographics can easily go viral and sometimes other blogs or news sites might link back to infographics created by your brand.

These 3 simple strategies can help you optimize your contents and increase traffic to your website and pages.
